A New Neighborhood

At my house, the little worker bees are busy, busy, busy!
They've been so busy that I had to build them houses to sleep in at night...
just too busy to fly away...
Here a peek at two of the new houses.
It's a happy, happy neighborhood!
These two are for two sisters. They are twins - a lot alike, a little different.
Just like their houses!
They wanted wonky, silly homes with lots of color, a little different but kinda alike -
so that's what they got.
Now all the other helpers are clamoring for their own place...
I'll be working late into the night to get the neighborhood ready for them.
After all, they are saving my rear end working so hard for me...

Sunday Art Work

Here is a peek at a painting that I've been working on.
I am not pleased with it (she won't let go of her mascara...)
but she is going in a good direction.

I'm really trying to get things lined up to begin offering transfers of some of the faces that I draw.
I thought that maybe some people would like to have a face to paint themselves...without having to draw one.
Can't draw but like to paint, or want to learn to paint?
Then this would be the thing for you!

An Evening of Painting...

Or
"What I did while Mr. Wonderful was gone".
It was just too hot for me to travel with my handsome (and hard working) husband to a ballgame this evening so I stayed home instead and painted.
Well, I drew, then painted, then drew again.
I should just paint and then do my details...
why, that's too simple! I'd rather make it harder on myself, ya know?
I was going to keep these to myself but decided to put them out there in the universe and see what they bring home to me...
I started a "simple" little flower painting (no, really-it was going to be just a quick little painting...) to use in my book (the one that already has countless hours spent on it) (but that's okay - I love it!) and the next thing I knew it was getting dark outside, I missed lunch, dinner and the evening news...
Hmmm...It happened again - lost all track of time, oblivious to what is going on around me...
I'm sure that it happens to a lot of you too. It seems that it just goes with the territory - the life and mind of the artist. Or really any creative soul.
I love it, this getting so wrapped up in what you're doing that the outside world just...goes away...

So - here ya go two posts in one day! After an entire week of daily posting!
And more drawings, more painting to enjoy!
I hope that all of you have a great evening and a restful night of pleasant dreams.
Sleep well my friends.

Work In Progress

This is the drawing that I took to Paulette Insall class at the Inspired Retreat.
I want to work on the hair - not only the color (I thought a darker brown would be nice - especially those eyebrows!)but the entire "look" of it. I had to put a little gesso on it to cover up a, um, a little background problem...
I also do not like the lip color...anybody out there with some suggestions on that? I used the Caran D'ache crayons. I need another color. I feel that this one is too brassy or something...

I still have a lot of work on it but the important thing is that

I AM PAINTING!
I did use some of the techniques that I learned from Wyanne in her painting class.
They (Paulette & Wyanne) are both wonderful teachers.
