Brought to you by the Letter "N"

I want my buddy Martha to see that I have been watching her glorious videos...
and practicing.
Look at this awesome little "art" work, I mean word that I created...
My name next...love those little details...
and in my drawing class, I really stress that it's all about those little details... Oohh...look at this little piece of practice...
Create (daily).
Ispire.
Love.

Wait..

Ispire?
WT?!?
Oh, now I see...it says "Is pire to spell better"
What's going on with that? Did some little elementary school kid get hold of my markers...?
No?!

OK -I have to come clean here...
I did it.
I am the one that (accidentally) left out the letter "N".
My husband DARED ME to put this on my blog...
Mr. Webster was one of his nicknames in school (imagine that?!)...
So I had to add the next line...
"love your Miss Spelled Word"
and I do Is pire to love that word every day...
It brings me Joy.

You know, she may be Miss Spelled but she looks good !

Calligra-Fun

I'm taking Martha Lever's online class - Calligra-Fun. I've only watched one and a half videos, had no time to practice because I've been gone almost all weekend - but I love it already!

I've always loved calligraphy, the letter forms, the sheer beauty and movement of each stroke of the pen.
Martha has combined a lot of fun and freedom with the beauty.
Check it out!

I'll try to watch more of the videos while making a hundred phone calls on my list today...

Blog Friends

Sally and Gen

Yesterday several "blog land" friends got together at Random Arts in Saluda NC.
This is how it all came to be -
one day Martha went to Jane's shop - who loved her mixed media work and
posted a link on her blog to Martha's blog.
I saw the link, clicked on it and loved her work too! I put a link on my blog to Martha's.
My friend Julie saw Martha's link and visited her blog.
In the mean time, Jane told Sally Casper about Martha.
Martha emailed me to say that she was coming to Greenville (I live close) and would I like to get together at Jane's one day for a play day.
And that, my friends is just how wonderful, new friendships are formed online!
We spent all day at Jane's, chatting away, show and tell, making Martha write on everything that we had, convincing Julie that she isn't "just" a quilter but a mixed media fiber artist, writing down cool ideas and awesome links, eating Crazy Squirrel salads and just a little retail therapy.
Whew!
I was SO energised, so excited, so wowed by the day that I talked non-stop when I got home!
Imagine that...?! This is my painting/creating art apron. It was my husband's high school shop apron!

Like I said, we made Martha write on everything that we had...

Dose of Delivered Inspiration

Look at what my UPS man brought today...

A Martha Lever Excettera Journal.
She uses her own calligraphy and hand drawn/painted images
to form a beautiful collage that graces the front of this lined notebook.
You have to go to her Etsy shop and
look at all the yummy things that she has there.

I LOVE this journal!

I had seen them in her shop
but failed to order one
before she sold out...
So, I emailed her and ask if she was going to do more.
I'm so glad that I ask
instead of just wishing I had of bought it when I first saw it.
Within a day or two, there they were...
The most difficult thing was
deciding which one that I wanted.
I'm excited too
cause she is developing one with
Poppies
on it.
I love Poppies and Martha's are
Awesome!

And look at the note card she sent with it!

Beautiful enough to frame.

And the sweetest note
on the back of it...
I can just feel her beautiful spirit in all of her work.
Follow her blog here
and get your daily dose of Martha (Lever not Stewart)!
